Chest physio therapy is the treatment generally performed by physical therapist for improving breathing by indirect removal of sputum from the breathing passages of patients.
What is percussion treatment?
Chest percussion therapy is mainly concentrates on airway clearance therapy. It is also called as cupping or clapping of various areas of the chest and back which will helps to loosen sticky sputum.
What is the purpose?
The purpose of chest physical therapy is to help patients breath more freely and to get more oxygen in to the body.
Chest physio therapy includes:
- Postural drainage
- chest percussion
- chest vibration
- de-breathing exercises
- Coughing
Other treatments includes suctioning nebulizar treatments and the administration of expectorant drugs.
